While I enjoy getting tattooed. I must say to you that anything you get will ultamately be your choice. That is what makes getting inked is all about personal choice. That said.. I like the old style of it but to me it seems a little dark and hard to build upon with later artwork. I have a flashwork kind of tattoo on my right arm and it will be hard for me to build on when I go to finish the rest of the naked skin on that side. On the other side I have a work that is totally custom and will be able to one day expand up onto my chest over my shoulder and onto my back. Planning ahead on large pieces is important. Also try to figure out ahead of time how much color you wanna have on you. Over time it will fade even if you take good care of it your skin will shed causing you to loose some of the more vibrant colors. Black and grey tattos retain much of thier detail much much longer. And a well killed artist can get amazing details into a black and grey. However color tattoos many times come off being too cartoony. I plan on having one side of my body to be black and grey while the other I'm gunna continue useing color on my large tattoo. Hope that helps with some of your choices that you'll be making. Oh and check the spelling of anyone wanting to write words on you it's really common for lesser skilled guys to mis spell on ppl. And for god sake make sure damn sure you get a brand new needle and a machine that has been autoclaved. Cleanlyness is godliness.

oh and its not a gun they use on you its a machine. tattoo machines make art guns make holes that bleed a lot more
