The Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence, and The Magna Carta, all examples of a Manifesto written by people who were fed up with the conditions under which they were living. I think it is time in WoW and perhaps in the MMO World in general that we as players stand up and speak our minds as to what we see as Unalienable Rights common to us as gamers, subscribers of games, and players of online games.
"So, Vardi, What caused this burr up your butt?" Did you know that the new tier of gear and top item level gear are only available from raiding? The only way to get new epic gems is through raiding. The only way to see end game content is through raiding. Pvp"s will see none of these things. Solo and Casual players will see not one epic drop nor feel apart of the story line as it happens. With this Expansion and the Patches that have followed, Blizzard has been glorifying the Raiders at the expense of a significant part of their player base.
Yes I raid as do others in our Guild. There are those both in our Guild and out that have the desire to raid or see the content but do not have the time or have the stamina to deal with the group aspect the game forces on the players to see the end game content. We have players who PvP because that is the source of their enjoyment or that is all they have the time for. These players will never wield the next epic staff or dagger nor be able to equip themselves with the best gear or gems.
I ask. does this seem right?
So I am thinking of writing a Manifesto of my own... The MMO Bill of Unalienable Rights. What do you think I should add? Should all end game content of a Game be available to all players no matter their gaming style: Solo, Group, PvP, and Raiders? Should we be forced to put up with trolls in trade chat and harassment from others because a Company does little or nor policing of what is said and done in the public arena of their game? These are all issues I see in MMO's. Are there others and should we stand up for our "human" rights or just take one up the backside "cause it's only a game?"
