i got this in my email this morning. figured i'd post it for everyone to see.
Sooooo I know ya'll have been looking forward to hearing from me, and I know it's only been like 2 days, but the point still remains. I figured since I have time and access to a computer with internet I would send ya'll an email letting you know about my trip thus far. I flew from Pope Airforce Base, NC to Bangore Maine, spent like an hour or so on the phone with Allison while they refilled the plane, who seemed to be the only one crazy enough to be awake at like 3-4 AM... from there I jumped back onto the plane and flew to some airport in Germany. Spent about an hour in Germany as they refilled the plane and restocked it with food. From there I flew into Manas International Airport in Kyrgyzstan. From there I got on a bus and they drove us maybe 10 minutes to Manas Airforce Base. Which is where I currently am. So if you know anything about me and know I don't sleep on airplanes, you can figure out that I've been awake for roughly a long ass fuckin time. Today has been eventful, we landed here at around 6 AM local time and were busy for maybe 2 hours... getting linen and our bags and stuff like that. After that we've done nothing... I layed around on my bunk watching Family Guy on a buddies laptop until around 1 PM when I decided to get up and go get some lunch at the DFac(Dining Facility) then I went to the small store on post and bought some essentials in which I forgot to pack... IE extra razors, deodorant and a calling card. I then went back to my bunk and layed around and hand wrote a letter to one of you... you'll get it when you get it . Now I just got off the phone with my mother, I didn't want to wake anyone else up between the hours of 3 AM and 6 AM. After this I'll probably go lay down again and watch some more movies or go take pictures of things I could get into trouble for taking pictures of... or something... IDK yet, kinda boring at the moment. We're waiting on the next available flight into Afgahnistan, not sure when it will be. We're expecting no longer than 72 hours or 3 days... hopefully it won't be that long becuase I don't like being this bored. I probably won't get any replies to this email, but if it's within the next couple of days I just might. My friend Brett, the guy I've been living with the last couple months, after dropping me off at the base, went home and rebuilt his laptop, and is mailing it to me in Kandahar. I might have internet access in Kandahar while I'm there. We may be there for up to a month or possibly two, but I don't exect us to be there for very long. As I posted on myspace, which I can not access from this dumb computer... the address on there is only temporary, but anything mailed there will eventually make its way to me. I'm forcing myself to stay awake at this point hoping it won't be long until dark and I can get some sleep. I can't charge my phone at this place just yet becuase of the crazy plugs, and I don't have many phone numbers memorized just yet. I promise depending on if I leave tomorrow or not I will call some of you for a few minutes. I've just got to figure out how to charge the phone. I love you all and I miss you all a lot and I look forward to readin letters from you.
